bmi, British Midland International, is the second largest airline at London Heathrow, one of the world's busiest and best-connected international airports.  From our Heathrow hub we operate services in the UK, Europe, the Middle East, Central Asia and Africa - a network of over 30 destinations.  Our fleet of 47 all-jet aircraft takes 7.5 million passengers safely to their destination annually.

bmi's global reach is further extended by being a member of Star Alliance, a grouping of 28 International airlines offering customers a worldwide network and a smooth integrated travel experience. Overall, Star Alliance offers flights to 1,172 destinations in 181 countries.

From the US, there are departures from over 100 US cities via partner United, as well as nonstop flights to LHR from 10 US* gateways with our codeshare partners: Air New Zealand, Continental Airlines, United Airlines, US Airways and Virgin Atlantic.  From London Heathrow, bmi offers connections to over 30 destinations across the UK, Europe, Middle East, Central Asia and Africa.

Today, we offer service to destinations in Armenia, Austria, Azerbaijan, Belgium, Denmark, Egypt, Ethiopia, France, Germany, Georgia, Iran, Jordan, Kazakhstan, Kyrgyzstan, Lebanon, Republic of Ireland, Russia, Saudi Arabia, Sierra Leone, Sudan, Switzerland, Syria, and across the UK.

bmi operates from Terminal 1 at London Heathrow, with the most flights from T1.  Many of the Star Alliance carriers are also located in T1, allowing even more seamless travel.  Currently, Austrian, Aegean Airlines, Air New Zealand, Asiana, Croatia Airlines, LOT Polish Airlines, Lufthansa, South African Airways, SWISS, TAM, TAP Air Portugal, United and US Airways operate from T1 at LHR.
Partners Virgin Atlantic and Continental Airlines operate from T3 and T4 respecitively.

* BD codeshare nonstop flights operate from Boston, Chicago, Denver, Houston, Los Angeles, Miami, Newark, Philadelphia, San Francisco and Washington DC to LHR on CO, UA, US, VS and NZ.  Denver is seasonal service.
